Kisch, Frederick Hermann

(1888-1943)

   British soldier and Zionist. He was born in India. He joined the Indian Army and was posted to Baluchistan in World War I. Later he was appointed to the direc-torate of military intelligence at the war office, working in the section covering Russia, Persia, China and Japan. He was a member of the British delegation to the Paris Peace Conference (1919-21). In 1923 he became a member of the Zionist Executive in Jerusalem and head of its political department. Later he advised the Jewish community on security matters. During World War II he returned to active sevice in the British Army.
